Executive Summary

Our collaboration with Fremantle Trust has led to a transformative IT journey. The newly devised IT strategy, infrastructure, and co-sourcing model have positioned Fremantle Trust for a more efficient and cost-effective future, ultimately enabling them to enhance the quality of care and support provided to their residents.

The Challange

No Roadmap or Plan

Fremantle Trust faced numerous challenges within their landscape. The Managed Service Provider (MSP) they were partnered with had consistently underperformed. This resulted in inadequate technical support and prolonged resolution times. The trust’s relationship with the MSP deteriorated due to the provider’s lack of future plans, and proactive remediation approach. Moreover, Fremantle Trust lacked a well-defined IT roadmap and strategy, which hindered their ability to fully utilise their charity status. Additionally, the cost of managing desktop and infrastructure services through their existing provider had become excessively high, straining their budget.

The Solution

A Comprehensive Transformation Assessment

To address these challenges, We initiated a comprehensive transformation assessment. This began with a thorough technical evaluation of their existing IT infrastructure. The assessment aimed to define Fremantle Trust’s future IT capabilities and develop a well-structured strategy.

It outlined clear phases, a roadmap, interdependencies, and costs. Collaborating closely with Fremantle Trust’s IT Director, we worked to create a compelling business case for investment, emphasising the expected benefits of the proposed IT strategy and transformation.

The Success

Propelling their digital transformation

The successful transformation efforts ushered in a new era for Fremantle Trust’s IT capabilities. A detailed IT strategy with distinct phases was created, designed to be easily comprehensible and readily approved by both the IT team and the board.

The comprehensive approach encompassed a meticulously designed architecture, a well-defined roadmap, and a carefully executed phased implementation plan. The introduction of a modern desktop strategy, featuring Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Azure Virtual Desktop, significantly enhanced document management, team collaboration, and efficient SharePoint support.

Networking was streamlined with simplified firewall, VPN, and Azure networking solutions. Legacy data centers were decommissioned, resulting in significant cost savings.

Additionally, a co-sourcing model was implemented, establishing a collaborative and agile operating approach for more efficient IT services. As a result, Fremantle Trust’s IT infrastructure has been revitalised and optimised, enabling them to deliver their high-quality care services with even greater efficiency.
